MSc Marketing

The aim of the programme is to educate marketing experts who are able to perform marketing management tasks in various business sectors and organizations. The programme focuses on the formation of analytical thinking, customer-centric attitude and strategic perspectives to allow students to meet the challenges of the digital marketing environment.

Programme Information

Immerse yourself in the world of marketing and become a  marketing specialist by building on business fundamentals acquired in your previous studies or professional life. 

In our MSc Marketing, you will study about theories that explain consumer choice and will practice analytical stills to obtain actionable consumer insights. You will learn how to apply the concept of customer experience and use tools to implement effective social media campaigns. You will have a firm understanding of organisations and marketing processes and know how to implement customer orientation. You will benefit from studying contemporary modules, such as Customer Relationship Management, Global Marketing and Digital Marketing, which will enrich your professional outlook and allow you to unleash your full potential as a marketing specialist. 

You will be assigned more leading-edge, practical tasks and study topics and will experience engaging teaching methods such as business simulations and case studies. All self-funded Corvinus MSc Marketing students will also have the unique opportunity to join the CEMS Master in Management. This allows you to gain an additional degree in Management at the same cost and in the same timeframe, spending a term at one of the 30+ CEMS international institutes! 

As a graduate you will obtain positions in global business, online marketing  and trade in sectors like FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), IT/telecommunications, media and more. You could excel working  for an SME (small and medium enterprise), NGO (non-governmental organisation), MNC (multi-national company) – public or private sectors, anywhere in the world - we will show you how! 

For admission onto the MSc Marketing programme, you will typically hold a business or marketing related degree. We accept applicants from other academic backgrounds who meet the compulsory credit requirements stated below.

There are two remarkable scholarship opportunities available to Non-EU international students:

  • Stipendium Hungaricum (for non-EU nationals from >70 countries)
  • Diaspora scholarships (for international students with Hungarian ancestry).

Both scholarships entitle you to:

  • Free tuition for the duration of your studies
  • 43,700 HUF (c. €120) per month for the duration of your studies (for living costs)
  • University accommodation or an additional 40,000 HUF (c. €110) per month for the duration of your studies (accommodation allowance)
  • Medical insurance.

Preparatory Programme

If you do not meet the requirements, you can apply for our preparatory programme.

Note: there are three ways to apply to Corvinus as an international student:

  1. Self-funded route (all applicants)
  2. Stipendium Hungaricum route – non-EU applicants only, further restrictions apply

Credit requirements

In Hungary, there are legal pre-requisite credit requirements to study graduate programmes.

Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements for this programme before applying.

You will need a minimum of 30 ECTS constituted from the following areas: 

  • methodology studies (mathematics, statistics, informatics) 8-12 credits
  • theoretical economics studies (micro and macroeconomy, international economy, regional economy, economic history) 8-12 credits
  • business studies (corporate economics, corporate finances, marketing, accounting, management, human resources) 10-14 credits 

Tip: to quickly calculate your credits in ECTS, divide learning hours by 30!

Learning hours should be formally described, but can be constituted of classroom hours, private study and assessment.

More information

Krisztina Kolos, Ph.D is a Professor of Marketing at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary. She is involved in several research projects including aging and wellbeing, service development, regional and firm-level competitiveness. Her current research interests are related to services marketing including transformative service research with a special focus on the use of services by the elderly. She actively participates in Hungarian and international conferences. She has written 4 books and several book chapters, and has 97 academic publications. She has been teaching courses in the field of branding, services marketing, market resaerch and marketing management in various academic programs. Currently she is the director of the Marketing programme.
